Catalase Enzyme | High-Specificity H₂O₂ Decomposer for Textile & Wastewater Treatment
Product Description
This product is catalase refined through deep liquid fermentation of fungi strains. Catalas can efficiently decomposes hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂) into oxygen and water, with a high substrate specificity that only acts on hydrogen peroxide. It is widely used to eliminate hydrogen peroxide generated or residual from disinfection, sterilization and bleaching processes.
Working Principle
Catalase is a conjugated enzyme with iron porphyrin as its prosthetic group. While the complete catalytic mechanism of catalase has not yet been fully elucidated, its catalytic process is generally recognized to proceed in two steps:
(1) H₂O₂ + Fe(III)-E → H₂O + O=Fe(IV)-E(.+);
(2) H₂O₂ + O=Fe(IV)-E(.+) → H₂O + Fe(III)-E + O₂.
The Fe(IV)=O complex reacts with a second molecule of hydrogen peroxide to regenerate Fe(III)-E, simultaneously producing water molecules and oxygen.
Features and Benefits
Applying catalase on fabrics for hydrogen peroxide bleaching can remove the residual hydrogen peroxide on the fabrics, avoiding the occurrence of stains and uneven dyeing during subsequent dyeing, which serves as a key technology for manufacturing green and eco-friendly textiles.
Catalase can also monitor and optimize the dosage of hydrogen peroxide in bleaching. After the bleaching process, adding catalase can degrade the remaining hydrogen peroxide.
Additionally, catalase can be used to remove hydrogen peroxide from industrial wastewater, as well as wastewater generated from equipment and pipeline cleaning.
Usage Instructions
Working temperature: Optimal Temperature: 40℃-55℃, Effective Temperature: 20℃-55℃
Operating PH value: Optimal PH: 6.0-9.0, Effective PH: 5.0-10.0
Recommended Dosage: 0.01-3kg of the enzyme preparation per ton of raw material. However, due to variations in application fields, raw material compositions and process parameters across different factories, the actual application method and dosage should be determined through experiments.
Precautions
Enzymes are protein-based substances. For sensitive individuals, inhalation of enzyme powder or droplets may case allergic reactions. Prolonged exposure may irritate the skin, eyes and mucous membranes. It is recommended to wear a face mask during operation. If the product accidentally splashes onto the skin or eyes, rinse immediately with clean water.
Package and Storage
Package Options: 1kg/bag or 25kg/bag or customized.
As a bioactive substance, the enzyme may deactivate under high temperature, strong acids, or strong alkalis. Therefore, avoid direct sunlight during transportation and storage. And After opening, reseal tightly to prevent enzyme deactivation. Store in a cool, dry and well-ventilated place.
